  Even in the best of times-there were many struggling each day. Now, more than ever, is that need even greater. Not only the need(s) of those Individuals & Families struggling, But the Need for All of Us to Come Together, helping one another whether it be emotionally, material wise, and/or any such way that makes a difference, no matter how big or small. With all the social distancing and 6 feet apart rules, it seems as though many of us have forgotten we can still be there for each other even during times like these.

 Individuals and Families living in poverty already have a difficult time seeing beyond their current circumstances, making it difficult to imagine better times. This is especially true for those Individuals and Families with Children.
Those challenges alone make everyday life sometimes feel as though there is no hope. Add in our present circumstances, the pandemic/covid-19, the entirely new way of life we have all had to adjust to making an already tough situation unimaginably harder.
For Children and Young Adults these times are even more challenging, even in the best of circumstances, their new 'way of life/having to do things' has pretty much been put into a chaotic uproar. Remote learning, social + physical distancing, loss of connection, and unfortunately for many, even deeper poverty- make it nearly impossible for these children/students to imagine a future beyond even a few days this “new normal”.
  If these is one thing we can help them have some sense of normalcy and control over, it can be their clothing, accessories- the ultimate expression of ones self no matter your age. Here's how you can help these deserving Children and Young Adults.

As the weather becomes increasingly colder, people in Our Community are in greater need than ever for even the most basic of staple supplies. Dollar Tree, which is undoubtedly one of my Top Favorite stores for DIY/Craft related, snacks, and so many other things- not to mention the fact that everything is $1.00! Is one of the best places to shop for items to fill and create care packages! Full of food and basic hygiene/toiletries that are easy to prepare and even easier to put a smile on so many deserving Individuals, Families, & Kiddos’ faces this year.  Whether building care packages on your own to deliver to People Helping People 2Pay it 4ward-NH for Our ‘Caring with Kindness Day’, or if you prefer to simply pick up a few items and drop off to have put together by one of our caring coordinators, or even pick up a Giftcard and have one of our eager Care Coordinators pick up items on your behalf, As Well as other idea for this year- if we are able to get enough items/donations and packages put together to provide the many deserving individuals/families, in time we may accept and/or include giftcards in each package if we are able to. However You prefer to help with this year’s Caring with Kindness day drive(s) just know, you'll be making an impact on your community!  We want to make sure that any Individual and/or Family that may find themself in a place of need,  is able to seek and find help and at best- a network of Genuinely Caring & Understanding individuals. 

 The feelings that come with being unsure of whether or not we can provide our Children/Families with anything from the most basic essentials to things such as Birthday Parties, etc- can leave even the toughest of Parents feeling broken as if we've failed, even before knowing if a need or want will arise that we can or cannot provide.

 This is even more true for so many Individuals & Families during certain times ofthe year such as; Seasonal/Holiday, and from my experiences- right before school starts/back-t0-school.

 

 Regardless of whether we'll be remotely learning, physically attending classes, and/ora combination of both- (or even something totally different) 'Back-to-School' is just one of those times of year when no matter what our own personal things may be-the kiddos are usually excited to some degree, and no matter their age(s), personalities, etc- most kids are excited to update (shoot,forsome completely change) their 'Styles' wardrobes, and have put some thought into their 'look for the year, or at least their look for the first day of school!' So for the many, many Parents, GrandParents, Aunts/Uncles, anybody else who like me, come this time of year- is feeling both excited, and a bit anxious- as to "how am i/are we going to be able to get our Children the clothes, shoes, backpacks, etc that, (and believe me i hate to say it) 'all their friends/other kids have/will have...' Sucks for so many Individuals & Families- those who, no matterhow hard your working/how many hours your working, how hard you try and save/budget, etc- just Can't even seem to 'scrape by' month-month, week-week..even day-day at times- So now that you've sat through, or at least I'm hoping you did :) one of my usual lengthy and probably over detailed/personallyexplained posts/sharings- I'll try and get to the main point I started with (yes, there is one!) 

 People Helping People 2Pay it 4ward-NH's most recent 'program' brainstorm and planning sessions have given me so many ideas but my biggest plan (AKA: my 'WIP' and what I've been working hard on planning,lookingup ideas, hopefully being able to get more than just myselfandor a couple others on board for, etc-) is 2Pay it 4ward-NH's Clothing Swap-N-Shop  [shoes/accessories and other items/needs as well]

 Getting back to one of the biggest times ofthe year when clothing and other related items are needed most- currently that time being semi-'Back-To-School' and Seasonal: Winter (warm clothing) and regardless of remote learning, in-person learning, combo learning-etc] All kids look forward to and deserve to have those essentials- i may not be able to provide new clothing and all that but if we could at least provide/help with 'new-2-you'/'new-2-them' clothing, shoes, etc- but not just any old clothing donation- our Swap-N-Shop will provide not only personal/1 on 1 Caring attention to each Individual/Families needs (and wants when possible)plus giving the good ol' fashioned clothing closet a'You'Nique' upgrade- being that those in need/using this service can 'Shop' and pick the items themselves and/or with their children/family as well. Which on it's own makes what is sometimes an 'uncomfortable situation' for children/teens, even us adults who have been/are ina position of needing help-to feel more independent/self-sufficient feel.

 *Individuals and/or Families have the option of participating in clothing swaps or, if they prefer, simply donating and not taking clothing items in exchange.

  **'Swap-N-Shop' Participants can bring their new/gently used/worn clothing, shoes, an other material/needed items in- which they receive 'Indiviual Shopper Buck$ & Family Shopper Buck$'  ***{STILL WORKING ON IDEAS/TERMINOLOGY FOR THIS SYSTEM ;)

 'IND. SHOPPER BUCK$ AND/OR FAM. SHOPPER BUCK$'   (OR COULD USE TERM CREDITS/POINTS **  

 EX: “If you bring in 15 gently used items, ind/fam layout items they brought- count # of items,one of our volunteers/members looks over  [to ensure items are free from stains/tears/not qulaity to be 'handed on']

participant receives # of credits = to = of items.  *[Also have specific sections; I.E: Clothing items, Shoes, Accessories,etc = related credits, shoes=shoe credits, and so on...] 

  *New/With Tags items can receive double credits...?!

 *Underwear, Bras, Socks- Must be New- Cannot be used. Aside from Baby/Toddler socks, which can be gently used.

  

 *IDEA(s): For anyone who isn't exchanging items, but is still interested in Donating items may do so anytime by reaching out to programs' coordinator of services via Email: peoplehelpingpeople.2payit4ward@gmail.com or via Text. 

 Can 'Purchase'Vouchers'(AKA:Make a Monetary and/or Giftcard Donation in lue of donated items -in any of the following amounts:  $5.00 (fills a small grocery bag)  $10.00 (fills a small grocery bag + pair of shoes, and choice of extra/other item(s)  $15.00 (fills a med-lrg size reusable shopping bag + pair of shoes + item from seasonal/accessory {Such As; Coat, Hat/Gloves set, Other Similar type items} Amounts beyond to be determined and listed. 

 

  -We wanted to make sure that no one feels singled out, looked at, or ostracized because they need/needed a little extra help and support.  With the popularity of thrift stores, consignment shops, and yard sales in our day and age, I think that the idea a clothing swap-similar program is created throughout or community is not only going to make a positive impact on those we serve, but ourselves and potentially our environment- as we think twice before tossing those no-longer-worn/outgrown clothes/shoes/etc and decide to donate to a worthy cause instead. 

  Unfortunately, living in a time of disposability, it can be real troubling knowing how many items of all sorts in decent, even new condition get tossed out inevitably ending up in landfills. 

  Swaps are a win-win for everyone- One person’s 'unwanted'/unworn/outgrown' item(s) are sure to become  treasure(s) for another! Someone clear s away what they no longer use/want and someone else finds great benefit/use of what’s been discarded, both benefiting one another, as well as Our Planet Earth, diverting it from a landfill.

HandMade Bracelets & Anklets Made by Genesis

                    ***PLEASE NOTE: UPDATED AS OF MAY. 22ND. 2020****   

  Unfortunately due to some unfair and/or other reason, Genesis is now doing her own braceket business- Bracelets By G.G After seeing how excited she was when her and her friend had started, on top of her hard work and the fact that after their little "falling out" Genesis earned the money herself to purchase all the supplies, items/materials needed to continue on with her 'Business'/Entrepreneurial Endeavor! So I'm trying to help her out as best i know how in the business/entrepreneur aspects + the designing/diy gift making! She recently made a handful of beautiful bracelets, as i'm sure i have already mentioned at some point (I know, I can get repetitive and drag on with my novel style posts!) but i can't help that my BabyGirl is just Amazing and makes me so Proud- As do My 2 Boys, of course... More on them to come later today i'm sure :) She made bracelets to sell to help raise $$ towards the Tacher & Student Appreciation Celebration I've been working hard on trying to plan and set-up. 

  Just a few days ago, Genesis had walked down to the corner store for me *(which again another reason why i feel like a giant turd- i asked her to go to store) when she came homoe she was balling :( I of course sprung into action assunming 'I'm going to have to go grizzly bear mama on someone' well that Thankfully was not the case, though she had every right to be upset she dropped her phone on her walk back. The phone that she has been wanting and begging for for as long as i can remember- and i only just got on board with and got her (after looking into a number of phones, potential plans, etc- finding both a decent new phone for a very good price and with a "plan" that i can decide whether or not to buy the new card each month) Moving on, i told her we'd eventually look into either getting the screen fixed (Thankfully at this point it's just exterior damage AKA: cracked screen) which can, itself be pricey to repair so other option is to just buy another phone and transfer her number and stuff   ***(PLEASE NOTE: AS "GROSS" OF A STATEMENT AS I AM SURE THAT MUST OF SOUNDED LIKE, I ONLY SAY OR BY A NEW ONE BECAUSE HER PHONE LEGIT COST ME $59.95 AND THE CHEAPEST PRICE WE'VE BEEN QUOTED SO FAR TO REPAIR HER SCREEN IS $80!) So i am NOT in anyway trying to sound like i'm good with spending money i don't have like that/on non-essential items, whatever just cause the pricings. 

 Genesis has spent the past 48hrs or so Not only making a bunch of gorgeous bracelets *(which i must side note 1 more time- I must have a half a dozen or more of her bracelets at this point and i rock them proudly! They are super cute and she can do dif colors, patterns, etc.) she's made a bunch new bracelets, As Well As worked on her 'Business Plan, pricing, even coming up with some Specials/Promos. All in the hopes of trying to get up the money to replace and/or repair her phone with her own money! ...i know, my baby's growing up! LOL :) So for this extremely mature and determined little girl i am going to be posting and promoting her like crazy this weekend, hope ya'll are okay with that! 

  Of course chances are she may not get to her goal amount, there's even that slight possibility that it doesnt go her way at all (Again, NOT being a Mean Mom, i'm just sharing out here in my space it's a possibility, plus i feel strongly about being truthful and honest with my Kids so just in case) Below you will see some Newer pics *with More to come as the day/evening go on. Naigha likes Makeup, Hair dye (her mom said she said she has asked many, many times about dying her hair and this year she said it would be okay finally :) (of course, Not super chemical type non-amonia, and nothing drastic-) a few colors/brands she said she is okay with and has researched lol I'll list below. she also enjoy DIY, Sewing *(i have put together a nice starter sewing kit- with thread, variety of sewing needles, embroidery items, buttons, thimbal/stitch unthreader thing (i Dont know proper term for it lol) a few iron on patches/appliques, and copies of patterns for various projects, etc)
Kile likes construction equipment, he would like Ride on vehicle, he loves tools (he has a tool bench but not many play tools) Would Also Love a Play Kitchen & Play Food/Cooking Items/Toys
